FOXWEAR reflects the feeling of simplicity, meeting the basic needs of active people living in cool and downright cold climates. For skiing, cycling, running, and most anything.

FOXWEAR's fleece tights made from fabrics by the folks at Polartec are the best stretch insulation on the market today. They work perfectly as a base layer and are also a great alternative to long underwear. A minimum of details and a stream-lined fit keep the tights trim. Please check out our products and fabrics pages for details. Regardless of the weather or your type of activity, FOXWEAR'S products will keep you happy --- moving or still.

I'll help guide you through the glossy magazines and catalogues that push their 'high-tech jargon' and so we'll get you what you really want and need. It looks like Dave got what he was really looking for: Click Here -- from a bicycling forum.

...and here is a review that gives you a sense of what you'll get:
Lou,
On November 24th I got the E Vap jacket that you made for me. I wanted to let you know that it has worked out very well. I don't believe there has been a bicycle ride during which I have not worn it. It fits very well. As you may remember, sleeve length is a problem for me as I have long arms. It is so nice to be able to reach for something without the sleeves riding up to expose my wrists to the wind and cold.
It is a little tricky some times knowing how many layers to wear under the jacket -- we've had quite a wide variety of weather around here lately -- but I'm learning. Actually, the biggest mistake I've made so far was the morning the temperature was 19F with a 15mph headwind. I wore a wind breaker over the E Vap jacket and got too warm as it caused me to sweat and didn't allow for evaporation.
The purpose of this email was to talk about the E Vap jacket, but I will also add that the pants you made for me are terrific too. I got those in October and I wear them every ride as well.
And since I got off the E Vap jacket topic to talk about the pants I might as well say that the socks you made for me are great too. That morning I mentioned when it was cold and windy I wore them over two pairs of wool socks, with sandals, and was fine. At other times I've worn them as the only socks, and also over one pair of socks.
Good work Lou. I do appreciate it.
Scott Caldwell

Here is a great description of how Power Shield types of fabric works and how to maintain the weather-resisting properties they have. Look at this WEBSITE of theirs.

and another review from the bicycle forums http://forums.mtbr.com/showthread.php?p=6530698#post6530698 :
Review of my FoxWear Winter Pants as seen on Icebike.org I got these around Xmas, about a week after ordering them from Lou at Foxwear in Idaho. http://www.foxwear.net/products_pants.html He calls them rain pants, but especially since I got them in the heavyweight Windpro Hardface material (from Polartec), I would be inclined to call them a winter pant. Unlike some winter pants, they are nice and soft & quiet, somewhat loose fitting (more pant than tight for sure) and a little stretchy - you will be tempted to wear them around the house like your favorite sweats (you'll be hot unless you keep the thernostat at 55 like me). They have velcro pockets on the sides of the legs, which are one of my favorite features - a bus pass in one side, keys in the other, maybe a cellphone - no more struggling to put stuff back in my pack that is wired to my helmet light. The pants also have a reflective strip around the legs and a generous amount of velcro at your ankle so you can snug them up around your boots. The seat is double-thick, which felt bulky when I first tried them on, but I don't notice it at all now. They are so warm & windproof, they are the only layer I wear (except for bike-short liners) unless it gets down below 10F, when I might add a thin pair of long underwear. They breathe, so they don't get clammy even if you get a little warm on the hills. It has not rained since I got them, but I did have one super slushy day, and while I stayed comfortable, they did soak through in the wettest spots. If your goal is to remain totally dry in a downpour these won't work for that, but you won't get cold if you get caught in the rain either, and they dry out quickly for the ride home. They are $104.50, and you send Lou your measurements for a custom fit. Three other weights are available, and there are other colors too. I liked dealing with such a small company, Lou makes them himself. He also makes jackets, vests, balaclavas, etc. I have worn these pants bikecommuting on every workday since I got them. Highly recommended

We're now using Polartec's WindPro Hard Face material for jackets and pants as well as Power Shield.
